Who knew!!!!

All my life I thought I was a Rabbit. I had always gone by the year 1975. But it never occurred to me that I was actually born before the CNY that year. The CNY in 1975 was on Feb 11th. So I actually fall under the year 1974 making me a Tiger!

Positive Traits of the Tiger: Independent, brave, confident, dynamic, intense, energetic, sacrificing, faithful

Negative Traits of the Tiger: Moody, reckless, hot-headed, selfish, impatient, impulsive, opinionated, rebellious (yeah, well..... I AM a red-head! What did you expect?)

I am actually a Wood Tiger. The "wood" comes from this:

There is a binary Yin and Yang cycle, which enlarges the five elements cycle to a cycle of 10 (seen below). Even years are yang, odd years are yin. The cycle proceeds as follows:
If the year ends in 0 it is Yang Metal.
If the year ends in 1 it is Yin Metal.
If the year ends in 2 it is Yang Water.
If the year ends in 3 it is Yin Water.
If the year ends in 4 it is Yang Wood.
If the year ends in 5 it is Yin Wood.
If the year ends in 6 it is Yang Fire.
If the year ends in 7 it is Yin Fire.
If the Year ends in 8 it is Yang Earth.
If the year ends in 9 it is Yin Earth.

Wood carries the characteristics of: Generous, Warm, Persuasive, Co-operative, Seeks to Expand and Grow, Idealistic, Ethical, Enthusiastic, Seeks to Explore

This CNY is the Year of the Pig (or Boar) beginning on Feb 18, 2007. This year is a Fire Pig year. It is also the Year of the Golden Pig which occurs once every 60 years (every 600 years in Korea).

Babies born in the year of the golden pig are believed to have good fortune and will lead a comfortable and wealthy life.

People born in the Year of the Pig are generous and kind and full of inner strength. They’re good listeners and have a passion for life. Pig people are quick-tempered, yet they hate arguments and quarreling. No matter how bad problems seem to be, Pig people try to work them out.

Fire carries the charateristics of: Dynamic, Energetic, Passion, Enterprise, Adventurous, Restless, Competitive, Leadership Skills, Strong, Single-minded
Wondering if Mia will be a Golden Fire Pig?!?!?!?!

Hehe! I had to go back and check. I just made the cut! I'm a wood tiger too.

Ron said...

Wow, would that make you tiger woods?

he he he - to Ron's comment, I actually thought the same thing!

A tiger is much more impressive than a rabbit, anyway!!!

I had a laugh at you asking whether your daughter is a fire golden pig! She'd be nice and impressed in 10 years time, eh?!!

Now that you've shared that I know we're the same age!!

BUT...I still fall under the year of the rabbit though....

Hope we have little puppies though...not pigs!! (Means we'd be getting there sooner!! ;)
