Career Day!

Today we had a career day at our school so our kids could learn about all different kinds of careers to choose from when they "grow up". It was pretty fun! We had a meteorologist (It's Chester!) from the local tv station! A retired Cardinals pitcher (Tom Henke) who lives in our area. He brought 5x7 pictures of himself pitching and signed them personally for each student - very nice!! There was a college professor and a physical therapist. Those picturees are shown here. There was also a beautician, a mailman, a fireman, a principal, a bridge engineer, a bank officer, an environmental specialist, someone from the military, a Mary Kay consultant, an archaeologist, a personal trainer, a farmer, a child day care owner, a nurse, an electrician, a horse trainer, a taxidermist, I can't remember who else. There were a lot of people there! It was really great and the kids had a lot of fun.

My son had this in 5th grade. He came home and announced if he can't play for the Orioles he was going to work at Sears!!! He is now in 8th grade and we still tease him about this.

Sounds fun! We have career day in middle school but it isn't nearly as fun as it was in elementary!

Hey, where are the sign language interpreters? They always forget about us at those things.
