Digital Scrapbooking?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketAnyone know anything about this? I have been looking online and am finding tons of digital scrapbooking freebies. Looks fun and I would love to do it but how do you do it? I am sure I have to get a program. Any suggestions for a software program? I think I might actually have one at home that came free with something and I have never used...

And then... do you print them out and put them in an album??? What do you do with them?

Any experts? Help!

I would love to know, too! There are so many cool programs out there. I know a lot of people use LumaPix, but I know there are others out there.

Let us know what you find out!

Not an expert at all... Yes, you need a program. I use Photoshop Elements. Then, you can print them, post them, burn them, or uplaod them to a phto company like Sn#p F*sh and have a book made!

I use Photoshop elements too and I love it! I found your blog through a search for digital scrapbooking. I love Digiscrapping and just started my own blog with my pages(just as in- today). I also just made a book about my son's first 16 months for all the mom's in my life- my mom, mom-in-law, and all the grandmas. I had to do a few pages differently depending on which side of the family it was for but mostly I just did the same pages and printed them out for everybody. It was awesome. 5 scrapbooks made in no time. So basically- I recommend it.

I should have explained myself better. The most common program that people use is Photo Shop Elements. It is fairly easy to use and affordable. Nice thing is you can get a free 30 day trial of the PC version (no CC needed) at the Adobe website: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/ (download link over on the side)

Many people scrap LOs (layouts) just to display online, but many print and put into plastic sleeves in albums. Although 12x12 is common with paper scrappers, it is hard to print at that size for digital scrapping. (Not really hard, but many print on home printers or send to places like Costco, Walmart, Shutterfly...and the larger size isn't available or a lot more expensive.) Some will scrap a 12x12 LO and then print it at 8x8 or 6x6. There is even a big movement to scrap 4x6 and put it into regular little albums. I have done this.

I am relatively new to all of this, but have learned so much from www.ChinaDigitalScrapbooks.com. It requires a one time $5 fee to join, but it is a private site (very adoption friendly) and there are several freebies. PLUS lots of great support and advice. Now that my DTC group isn't active, it is my new online home.
