CAUTION - GRAPHIC CONTENT!!!!!

I made it as small as I could for those of you who are faint at the sight of cuts and such. For those of you who enjoy seeing other people's injuries up close and personal and laughing in pure amusement, you can click on the picture and make it bigger! (sick-o's)

What to do while waiting for your daughter from China???? - CUT OFF YOUR FINGER!

I only have one word, "OH MY F#$%ING . . ." oh, that was more that one word.... "OUUUUUCH!!!!"

Who would have known a stupid rotary cutter would hurt so badly?!?!?! or cut so deep?!?!?! I probably should have gotten stitches or at least gone to the doctor. But I didn't (GRAPHIC CONTENT- MUST BE OVER 18 TO CONTINUE READING)...I carried my cut open finger to the bathroom, cupping my other hand under it. By the time I got to the bathroom (and believe me I RAN!!!!!!!!!!!) I had a pool of blood in my cupped hand, drained it in the sink and grabbed a huge handful of TP. Wrapped my finger up several times and applied pressure while holding my hand above my heart...isn't that what you are supposed to do? Yeah... the TP soaked through...apply more TP (good thing I took first aid!) Let it sit for a while (while laughing my butt off at my stupidity!)- oh and Brian was NO HELP during this process. Just sat there calmly. I can tell you if it were HIM that cut HIS finger.....yeah.... So, I finally get the nerve, and feel that the bleeding is somewhat under control, to look at it. I peel off all 200 layers of TP and OH GLORY! was I NOT ready to see that!!!!!!!!!! (see picture above- click on picture if you are a complete sick-o and want to see it more close up!) Yuck! (It actually looks a LOT better in the picture than it did with my own eyes - insert sighs of sympathy). So I doused it with peroxide, applied antibiotic ointment and bandaged it up...oh, and took some ibuprofin to hold me over. Fast forward to today....still in pain....but looking better. I still think I needed stitches but oh well...

OUCH!!! I did enlarge the picture (as an athletic trainer, I have any injury thing). Those things are SO sharp. I am always afraid that I will get myself with mine. I will be even more careful now.

GROSSE!!!! I knew there was a reason I didn't get one of those wangle-dangle rotary cutters - I WOULD'VE chopped a finger OFF!!!!

And, no, no enlarging from this computer - I can't stand gooby bits!

Yeah, I'm a sicko! I enlarged. I would have much prefer the photos before you cleaned it up! :o I am glad to hear that you were unsuccessful at cutting your finger off!! Great sympathy tip...wrap up the finger real big. Always works for me!! :) Hope the hurt goes away soon and stay away from the rotary cutter!!!

That was cool!! But I hate to say it, but I saw one much worse a few months ago when the deaf kid that I interpret for cut his thumb on a razor blade in Autobody.

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed reading your blog everyday. You really have a knack for writing. I am so sorry to hear about your injury. I am getting ready to cut fabric squares too and I am seriously reconsidering the rotary cutter, ha-ha! Do you know where your mom go the cute little china doll? She is so cute! Take care. :)
